Haydar Kamalifar is a researcher, writer, and activist in the fields of Kurdish development and futures studies. With a background in architecture and strategic management, he has focused on subjects such as social development, the political and economic future of Kurdistan, the role of the Kurdish diaspora, and the importance of institution-building and systems thinking in the Middle East.
His book, Kurdistan: A New Actor in the Middle East, is an attempt to present a future-oriented perspective on Kurdistan’s role in the region’s coming transformations. The book seeks to move beyond narratives of crisis and redefine Kurdistan through its civilizational, human, and geopolitical capacities.
