About this story

The Challenge

Discussions about Kurdistan are often focused on conflict, crisis, and short-term political struggles, while there is limited attention given to long-term development, strategic planning, institution-building, and future global changes. Kurdish society also faces challenges such as political fragmentation, weak institutional culture, and a lack of future-oriented educational and strategic resources.

This project aims to help fill that gap by promoting strategic thinking, futures studies, and a development-focused vision for Kurdistan’s role in the future Middle East.

The Story

This project proposes a future-oriented intellectual and research platform through the book “Kurdistan: The New Actor of the Middle East.” By combining strategic analysis, futures studies, and systems thinking, the project aims to encourage long-term vision, development-focused dialogue, and stronger institutional thinking within Kurdish society.

The book seeks to inspire researchers, youth, entrepreneurs, civil organizations, and the Kurdish diaspora to actively participate in shaping a more sustainable, innovative, and strategically prepared future for Kurdistan.

Impact

The project aims to encourage future-oriented thinking, strategic dialogue, and development-focused perspectives within Kurdish society. It seeks to inspire greater engagement in leadership, institution-building, civil society development, entrepreneurship, and long-term planning among Kurdish youth, intellectuals, and diaspora communities.

In the long term, the project hopes to contribute to a stronger culture of strategic thinking and sustainable development regarding the future of Kurdistan and its role in the Middle East.
